Since its establishment in 1972, Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. has gone through a great deal of hardship and difficulties and finally become the world's greatest shipbuilding company with its strong determination to make Korea the "Country of Shipbuilding".
HHI has also developed the heavy industries which are the basis for national economy such as Engine & Machinery, Industrial Plant, Offshore & Engineering, Industrial & Power Systems and Construction Equipment business.
By making a remarkable success in these areas, HHI developed the national economy and enhanced the status of Korea in the world.
HHI has announced a long-term management strategy "VISION 2010" in order to achieve a sales volume of $30 billion by the year 2010 by enhancing the technical ability, quality, and productivity, by advancing into the state-of-the-art industries like an information Technology business, and by securing the best competitiveness in the world markets in all business areas including shipbuilding and engine areas which are already the highest ranking in the world at present.
